AGCO Group acquires NEXT Farming software
The vast majority of farmers are convinced of the benefits of digitization for the future viability of their farms. They require standardized interfaces in order to connect their systems and solutions. Tractors and machines are at the center of this requirement. They are present on every farm and use and generate data, including for the farm management information system. Agricultural machinery and machine connectivity, therefore, play a decisive role in the acceptance of agricultural software.
With the sale to the AGCO Group, NEXT Farming will be directly connected to the machine manufacturer and become part of a leading global manufacturer of tractors and agricultural machinery. As part of this, AGCO will take over the NEXT Farming software business, while the soil sampling service and hardware business will continue to be offered by FarmFacts GmbH and BayWa AG.
Even those farmers who do not use agricultural machinery from AGCO can continue to use NEXT Farming software. The existing interfaces to other agricultural machinery manufacturers will be maintained and further developed. As AGCO is taking over the NEXT Farming software division as well as the associated employees, customers will continue to have their existing contact persons.
Thomas Dibbern, Managing Director of FarmFacts GmbH: "We are proud that we have established a leading farm management information system with NEXT Farming, which will now become an essential part of the digitization strategy of a market leader like AGCO. I would like to thank all employees who have continuously developed our software solutions and made NEXT Farming the market leader in agricultural software in Germany. Together, we have set an important course for digitization in agriculture."
